Senior Minister
Rev. Gary Speer was called as Interim Senior Minister to the church in November of 2018…by September of 2019, the congregation called him as Senior Minister…Gary brings to the church over 40 years of experience in ministry; he has been part of the North Texas Area of the Christian Church since August, 1981. Educated at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion, and then attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, receiving his Master of Divinity degree. He has a strong commitment to preaching, leading in worship, and providing the leadership and care this congregation needs. A photo will be added soon.
Gary came out of retirement that took place in April, 2017 to come and serve this congregation, and is grateful for the faithful, dedicated, committed persons who are Highlands Christian Church.
Associate Minister
Rev. Rhonda Tracy
Rhonda focuses on the discipleship and Children’s ministries of the church. Her passions include small group ministries, spiritual direction and our ministry at Lake Highlands Brookdale Assisted Living Center. Rhonda’s other ministry is to the Wylie ISD, in supporting the district’s administration. Rhonda leads with the support of her husband Pat, and sons Jordan and Tyler.
Director of Music
Lori McCommons
Lori coordinates the musical life of the church – chancel choir, worship hymns, soloists, and our handbell choir. Her ministries “set the bar” for our worship on Sundays. She is a talented pianist and has served HCC for more than 30 years!
